The complaint

Michael Kelley v. Auctions and Estate Sales Won, Inc. and Does 1-10, No. 2:26-cv-09762 (C.D. Cal.), is a six-page complaint filed September 1, 2026, ECF No. 1, with a jury demand.

What it alleges

Kelley alleges he took and owns eleven original photographs registered with the Copyright Office. The complaint describes Auctions and Estate Sales Won as a California corporation based in Los Angeles that operates the aeswon.com website, and alleges that the company stored and displayed the photographs on that website, including on a page for a Hollywood Hills estate, for commercial purposes without authorization. It alleges the defendants had access to the photographs because the posts are verbatim copies, and, on information and belief, that the infringement was willful. The single claim pleads copyright infringement.

Kelley seeks an injunction, the defendants' profits and his losses or, at his election, statutory damages under 17 U.S.C. § 504, costs and fees under 17 U.S.C. § 505, and interest.
