The complaint
Yousfi v. Meta Platforms, Inc. et al., No. 8:26-cv-03634 (D. Md.), was filed September 15, 2026, ECF No. 1 (9 pages). Yousfi demands a jury trial. She sues Meta and John Does 1-4 for DMCA misrepresentation, a declaratory judgment of non-infringement or misidentification, breach of contract, breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, specific performance and injunctive relief, and tortious interference.
The works
Yousfi, a content creator in Charles County, Maryland, alleges she personally films, edits, and publishes the videos at issue, which feature her and her husband. She alleges that on August 7, 2026, she obtained Registration No. PA0002598236 for one of the targeted videos, a motion picture titled "I feel like it was him. He basically took all the chicken." The Copyright Office public record lists that title with Miada Yousfi as claimant.
What the lawsuit alleges
Yousfi alleges that John Does 1-4 repeatedly submitted takedown notices to Meta falsely claiming to own her videos, and, on information and belief, that they used fake or impersonation accounts to do it. She alleges Meta told her 49 intellectual property claims had been filed against her content, and that Meta removed videos, suspended Facebook monetization, restricted her Facebook and Instagram accounts, and disabled her personal account. She alleges Meta upheld the disablement after her appeals and DMCA counter-notifications, and, on information and belief, that the review was automated. Count I pleads misrepresentation under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f) against the Does, and Count II seeks a declaration that her videos do not infringe any copyright the Does own or control.
