The complaint
Williams v. Atomic CJT Enterprises LLC and Sequoia National LLC, No. 6:26-cv-02249 (M.D. Fla., Orlando Division), was filed September 25, 2026 (14 pages). The plaintiff is Connor J. Williams of Oviedo, Florida, an architectural and landscape photographer. Atomic CJT Enterprises LLC is a Florida limited liability company with a gutter-services business, and Sequoia National LLC is a Wyoming limited liability company that the complaint says provides website design and marketing services to contractors. Williams demands a jury trial. A docket entry dated September 28, 2026 assigns the case to Judge Anne-Leigh Gaylord Moe and Magistrate Judge Leslie Hoffman Price. (Compl. caption; paras. 5 to 7; ECF No. 2.)
The works
The complaint alleges Williams created five photographs in 2025 depicting Kissimmee, Lakeland, Leesburg, Tavares, and The Villages, Florida, and registered them as part of a group of unpublished photographs titled Florida Cities photos 2, Registration No. VAu 1-577-005, with an effective date of December 15, 2025. The Copyright Office public record for VAu 1-577-005 lists that title, a group of 23 unpublished photographs, claimant Connor J Williams, and a date of December 15, 2025. (Compl. paras. 2, 20 to 23; Copyright Office record.)
What it alleges
The complaint alleges that the defendants reproduced and displayed all five photographs on the service-areas page of Atomic's website, pairing each with the community it depicts to solicit gutter customers there, and that Williams documented the use on or about May 6, 2026. It alleges, on information and belief, that Sequoia selected, copied, and uploaded the photographs while building and operating the site, which carried a footer reading "Copyright © 2026 Sequoia National," and that Atomic told Williams's counsel that Sequoia was responsible for certain content and that Atomic had asked Sequoia to remove the photographs. Williams says he notified both defendants on September 1, 2026. (Compl. paras. 3, 25 to 35.)
The counts and relief
Count I pleads direct copyright infringement against Sequoia, Count II direct infringement against Atomic, and Count III vicarious infringement against Atomic. The prayer asks for a declaration of infringement; actual damages and profits or, at Williams's election, statutory damages for each work, enhanced if willfulness is found; a permanent injunction; impoundment under 17 U.S.C. 503; an accounting; fees and costs; and interest. (Compl. Counts I to III; Prayer A to I.)
On the docket
On October 16, 2026, Magistrate Judge Price denied without prejudice a motion by Williams to extend the defendants' deadline to respond, noting that the defendants had not appeared. The same day, counsel appeared for both defendants and they filed an unopposed motion for an extension of time to answer, which is followed by an October 19, 2026 order on that motion. (Docket, ECF Nos. 15 to 18.)
