The complaint
Lastrada Entertainment Company, Ltd. v. Stevie Hill p/k/a "Stevie B", No. 1:26-cv-07950 (S.D.N.Y.), is a six-page complaint dated September 11, 2026. The first version was docketed that day as ECF No. 1, the clerk noted a PDF filing error on September 14, and the complaint was filed again the same day as ECF No. 3. The plaintiff is Lastrada Entertainment Company, Ltd., a New York corporation. The defendant is Stevie Hill, professionally known as Stevie B, whom the complaint describes as a citizen of Nevada. It pleads copyright infringement and an accounting and demands a jury trial. (ECF No. 3 caption; paras. 9 to 10, 36; docket entries of Sept. 11 and 14, 2026.)
The works
Lastrada alleges it co-owns the catalog of sound recordings the defendant made under a May 7, 1987 record contract with a record label. It alleges it owns 20 percent of the copyright in the recordings on the albums Party Your Body (SR000089748), In My Eyes (SR000102966), and Love & Emotion (SR000120222), that it owns the copyrights in four singles, and that, as that label's successor in interest, it owned an undivided 50 percent interest in the underlying compositions until December 5, 2024, some of which the defendant co-owns. (ECF No. 3 paras. 2, 11 to 17, 31.)
What it alleges
The complaint alleges that for at least the last three years the defendant has offered all of the recordings for sale and streaming on major platforms, including Spotify, Apple, Amazon, and YouTube, without Lastrada's authorization, and that he refuses to stop. The second count alleges that he received publishing royalties on the co-owned compositions and refuses to account to Lastrada for its 50 percent share through December 5, 2024. (ECF No. 3 paras. 18 to 24, 30 to 35.)
Relief sought
Lastrada asks for a judgment that the defendant infringed the U.S. copyright in the recordings, an accounting for 50 percent of the gross revenues from the co-owned compositions through December 5, 2024, actual damages including the defendant's profits, costs, attorneys' fees, and prejudgment interest under 17 U.S.C. 504 and 505. (ECF No. 3 Prayer A to D.)
Docket activity
The summons issued September 15, 2026. The court entered an order for an initial pretrial conference on October 5, 2026, and an affidavit of service was filed October 21, 2026. (ECF Nos. 5 to 7.)
