The complaint
Gold Value International Textile d/b/a Fiesta Fabric v. Entro, Inc., Sun Young Um, H Style, Inc., Ki Duck Sung, and Does 1 through 50, No. 2:26-cv-10305 (C.D. Cal.), is a ten-page complaint with a four-page exhibit, filed September 12, 2026, ECF No. 1, with a jury demand.
The design and the registration
Gold Value alleges it created an original two-dimensional artwork for textile printing, which it calls the Subject Design and numbers internally as GRP. 079/206-A100659, and that it sampled and sold fabric bearing the design in the fashion and apparel industries. The complaint attaches as Exhibit A a Copyright Office certificate showing Registration No. VAu 1-236-663, effective October 22, 2015, for an unpublished collection titled Grp. 079 - Spring/Summer 2016. The alternate titles on the certificate include 206-A100659 - PRINT, and the certificate names Gold Value International Textile Inc. as author, under a work made for hire, and as claimant.
What it alleges
Entro and H Style are described as California corporations, and the complaint alleges, on information and belief, that Sun Young Um is a CEO of Entro and that Ki Duck Sung is a CEO of H Style. It alleges, on information and belief, that the defendants created, manufactured, imported, distributed, and/or sold garments made of fabric bearing an unauthorized reproduction of the Subject Design, including garments sold by Entro and H Style under Entro style number D9474 and bearing the label Entro. The complaint includes side-by-side images of the design and an accused garment and alleges the two are substantially similar.
The first claim pleads copyright infringement against all defendants, and the second pleads vicarious and/or contributory copyright infringement against all defendants. Both allege, on information and belief, that the infringement was willful. Gold Value seeks an injunction, the defendants' profits and its damages under 17 U.S.C. § 504(b) or, if elected, statutory damages under 17 U.S.C. § 504(c), attorneys' fees, prejudgment interest, and costs.
