What was filed

Digital Development LLC v. DesertLore LLC and Sandul Gangodagamage, No. 2:26-cv-13710 (E.D. Mich., Southern Division), was filed September 29, 2026 (12 pages). Digital Development is a Michigan company based in Birmingham, Michigan, that does business as Nosniy Games and operates RIVALS, a first-person shooter game on Roblox. The complaint alleges, on information and belief, that DesertLore, an Arizona company, is the entity behind Legion Games/Legion Platforms, which hosts Veck.io, and that Gangodagamage is DesertLore's statutory agent and Legion's founder and CEO. Digital Development demands a jury trial. (Compl. paras. 2, 5 to 7, 16 to 18, 27 to 28.)

The rights asserted

The complaint relies on copyright Reg. No. VA 2-463-154 for Arena Map, effective September 15, 2025, and on U.S. trademark Reg. No. 8,073,831 for the RIVALS logo, registered December 23, 2025. USPTO records list Digital Development as the owner of that registration and show it as registered. The complaint also claims common law rights in the RIVALS mark. (Compl. paras. 21 to 25, 53 to 54.)

What the complaint alleges

It alleges Veck.io uses a substantially similar player, score interface, end-game win-screen animations, Arena map thumbnail and texture, and character design, and uses color and branding intended to evoke RIVALS and confuse or divert Roblox users. It alleges the conduct was willful. (Compl. paras. 29 to 39.)

Counts and relief

Count I alleges copyright infringement. Count II alleges trademark infringement, false designation of origin, and unfair competition under 15 U.S.C. 1125(a). The prayer seeks declarations, preliminary and permanent injunctions, removal of the game and assets, impoundment, actual damages and profits, statutory damages where available, fees, costs, and interest. (Compl. paras. 41 to 62; Prayer.)
